It is great fun and always interesting to paint on our unusual freshly quarried Bangor PA slates. Each piece has its very own personality uniquely marked with distinctive grain patterns and ancient markings. We like to think of it as a canvas of stone which will make any artwork an original.

The folks here at Capozzolo Brothers encourage all new ideas and we will consider special shapes and sizes within reason. We also have special discounts for bulk orders and art instructors. You must call first for details.

Refrigerator Magnet - Series HP-M

HP-MA   This slate refrigerator magnet has a magnetic strip already attached and is packaged with an interesting story. Everyone loves refrigerator magnets. We know of some who collect them and have hundreds. Humorous sayings seem to be very popular or sometimes a religious saying works well. This is a very versatile item. Size: 2 ¼ x 3 ½.

Price: (1 - 12) $1.25 each, (13 & up) $1.00 each

HP-MB   This refrigerator magnet is special because it can be personalized. Like our first magnet. it has a magnetic strip already attached and comes packaged with a history note, however, the word "Kitchen” and a pleasant PA Dutch design is pre-printed in white. Add a name in the spot provided and paint in the Dutch design and you will have a personalized refrigerator magnet. Remember, everyone enjoys a personalized gift. Size: 2 1/4 x 3 1/2.

Christmas Ornament - Series HP-O

Our one of a kind slate ornaments are most interesting. We hand split each slate to approximately 1/8 inch thick making them amazingly lightweight, only ounces. A hole is pre-drilled for hanging, however, you must supply your own string. You would be amazed at the amount of detail some of the local artists achieve on these delicate ornaments of stone. Our favorites are the bright red cardinals perched on snowy Christmas tree branches, or the big fat red Santas with sacks of toys. They never last long in our gift shop. Try painting anyone's favorite anything on one of these slate ornaments and watch them disappear. Size: approx 3½ x 3 1/2"

Welcome Sign - Series HP-S

 

Every one needs a warm and inviting welcome sign to greet friends and love-ones at their entrance of their home. The first impression a visitor receives often reveals much about the character of those who reside inside. This is why welcome slates are very popular. The word “Welcome” plus a family name and their favorite theme is sure to please. In our area, believe it or not, comical pigs and old doppy cows are the hit; however the possibilities are endless. Our favorites are wild-life such as ducks. deer and cardinals. These designs are often pleasing to folks who live in wooded areas or log homes. We provide holes for hanging and we suggest that the slate be secured with screws if it is exposed to the weather. A strong wind could blow a slate off an inside mount if just hung by a cord. Of course. installation is entirely up to a customers best judgment.

Plaque - Series HP-P

 
Our plaques are pre-drilled with the hole as illustrated. Holes can be set in opposite direction, but you must specify by phone or in writing. Each plaque has the rustic charm of old fashioned roof slate complete with chipped edges for that authentic effect. The design ideas are endless. Our favorites are sweet angels, jolly old fashioned Victorian Santas, whimsical pigs, cows, bunnies, kitties, teddy bears, etc. The best ideas come from your customers. Listen to them carefully and you will soon find out what designs are the best for them.

CLOCK - SERIES HP-CL

 This clock resembles a charming old fashioned roofing slate so prominent on old colonial homes found all along the east coast of America. The clock arrives fully assembled and boxed. An Arabic dial is preprinted in white so all you need to do is add your own design. You may want to unassemble clock to do your art, however this is up to you. Again, the ideas are endless, the best advice we suggest is to simply paint the things you most love, Ideas? Bright red cardinals, blue birds perched on a fence, gold finches on thistle, funny cows, doppy dogs, lovable pigs, smart aleck cats, huggable bears, and much much more. Everyone has their own favorites. You may want to try painting homes. Everyone will have a special request.
